Crazy Health Problems and Backpacking Adventure

Last Monday Isaac was a little grumpy and was running a fever. I decided to take him to the doctor. I was shocked when the doctor came out and announced that he thought it best to admit him to the hospital because an xray they took showed stuff in his lungs. My happy easy going guy hardly acted sick at all, poor little guy!
I drove over to the Sams Club Office and had them page Caleb because I couldn't get a hold of him. Caleb stayed with Isaac to wait for him to be admitted and I took Hyrum home for a nap. Hyrum and I were both so sleepy we passed out on the couch. Two hours later a sister in the ward called me to tell me she really felt like we needed a meal that evening even  though she had know idea why. Truly Heavenly Father was looking out for us and inspired us, the meal she left on our door was very helpful.
I ended up staying at the hospital with Isaac that night and didn't get much sleep. The nurses had to keep coming in and suctioning his mucus. On top of that I had a really bad sore throat and cough. The next morning Caleb called to tell me that Hyrum was showing the same symptoms as Isaac.
Luckily Isaac was able to come home the next day. We had two sick kids and I was getting worse. The next day I called the doctor and set up an appointment for myself. Not only did I have something but I also had pink eye!! Caleb kept our house going. He did the laundry, cooked the meals, and worked from home all to take care of us. There were a few sisters in the ward that stepped in and helped watch kids while I rested. Unfortunately be the end of the week Caleb ended up with it as well.
We are now finally better and are enjoying this great weather. Caleb just finished putting up a pergola swing in our backyard and we went back packing into Devils Den yesterday. I told Caleb that I was jealous that the Scouts got to go backpacking and that I wanted to go. I borrowed a pack from the troop and we hauled all of our stuff on our backs and I carried Isaac.
It was quite the adventure. We ended up having to ford the river to get to our site, get our water and filter it from the river, cooked all meals with a little back packing stove and got to use the bathroom right their in the woods. It was my first time camping without a pillow and pad to go underneath me. We were really roughing it. The boys did pretty well. Hyrum loved shining his flashlight and exploring and Isaac loved hanging out in the tent and rolling around.
The next day we went fishing in the river. we only stayed about ten minutes because we heard that there were no fish. lol... We ended up going on a little hike and playing at the playground they had there for kids. Hyrum loved camping. That is all he has been able to talk about. I forgot how much work it was, but in the long run that is what making memories is all about.
